Hunters and animal activist are already clashing over the duck-hunting season which starts tomorrow. Most states have already abandoned the practice because of the impact of the drought on bird numbers, but Tas is going ahead. Tas Govt figures indicate that 35,000 birds were shot last year. Laurie Levy, Spokesperson, Against

Duck Shooting, says that at least one in four birds shot are wounded.
